Photograph of Duran Duran, an English new wave band formed in Birmingham in 1978 by keyboardist Nick Rhodes (bottom left) and bassist John Taylor (top left), which also included lead singer Simon Le Bon (center), drummer Roger Taylor (top left), and guitarist Andy Taylor (bottom right). They were generally considered part of the New Romantic scene. They quickly rose into the mainstream with their innovative music videos showing on the 24-hour music channel MTV.
